Over the period, most of the beneficiaries who desired to engage in income generating activities were taken through basic entrepreneurial skills training. They were mobilized to start small savings with intention to raise their own capital. However this faced challenges due to poverty. MCDC started a village savings and loans programme based on the principles of table banking under the VSLA to mitigate against savings and lending.
The program was initiated in Kigali but later expanded to Gakenke
MCDC through networking and founder’s initiatives continued to raise funds to meet the increasing demand for Loans.
